Three Business Brains. One Brand In the Hot Seat. Infinite Possibilities.
We* think of marketing like a three legged stool: brand positioning, simpatico visuals, and compelling copy. Nail these three core elements and you will uncover a clear path to some pretty kickass marketing.
Want to see it all in action? Join *Christy Batta, Maggy Sterner, and myself do some deep tissue Brand Therapy on a single volunteer.
POSITIONING: Maggy kickstarts the conversation by aligning our collective mindset about the importance of defining your brand. Then we do it in real time, answering (and I mean really answering) key questions: Who is it for? What do they need? Who are you? What do you deliver? And why you, why now?
COPY/MESSAGING: Here’s where I come in. We identify our main themes, flesh out core values, and decide how to talk to our people (you know, the ones we just identified in Maggy’s session). We brainstorm blog posts, podcast episodes, and social media stuff. We’ll ideate campaigns and promotions. We’ll plot it all out into a loosey-goosey marketing plan.
GRAPHIC DESIGN: All the while, Christy has been creating a mood board and templates based on what we decided about brand and content. She shows us how to use meaningful elements again and again, but in different combinations, to create a strong visual brand. She unpacks the wild world of digital marketing and gives us the best practices we’ve been craving to generate attention, action, and admirers.
When we’re done, you’ll get the hands-on experience that you can apply to your own business, non-profit, or community organization. Do your own brand therapy with get-out-of-you-own-way exercises that’ll transform the way you “do marketing.” Revisit often, even brands need self care.
BrandJam is my brainchild, but it wouldn’t be shit without the vision, commitment, and sisterhood of Brand Coach Maggy Sterner and Graphic Designer Christy Batta. Big ups to Tony Porreco, who captures our voice, our message, and our personalities and spins it all into itty-bitty audio assets that totally rock.
